“Ask Andy Warhol if he can make a logo for us!"
In 1984, teenage Carl Haggqvist got a remarkable chance: during a visit to New York with his uncle and grandfather, he stepped into Andy Warhol’s Factory. Gathering his courage, Carl asked Warhol if he could create a logo for their Swedish band, RATFAB. Warhol modestly agreed, producing five hand-drawn variations of the band’s name—one of which became the artwork for their second single, now a collector’s treasure.
Forty years later, four previously unseen Warhol designs are being unveiled on a series of limited edition, colored 7-inch vinyl singles. The first release, “Bang City", comes on yellow vinyl matching Warhol’s cover and is limited to 500 numbered copies, merging rare music and iconic art.
This single features Charlie E and Lira End, each offering their own interpretation of RATFAB’s “Bang City", bridging past and present with a fresh take on a classic tune. Mixed by Oliver Stenberg and produced by Johan Lindegren, it captures the spirit of the 1980’s while setting a contemporary tone.
A true collectible, this release is Warhol’s Factory meeting Stockholm new wave—on vinyl for the first time.
